Reviews of Villa de la Roca

We were recently reviewed by the Robb Report, a source of news and articles covering luxurious lifestyles. Here is an excerpt from their article (April 1999):

A Welcome Villa

Villa de la Roca, high on a cliff at the edge of Playa la Ropa, is a five-suit villa billing itself as a bed-and-breakfast, but for all intents and purposes it's a comfortable, welcoming inn. It features an exceptional and extremely informal restaurant that is open to the public on a limited basis.

A true Spanish-style villa cascading halfway down the cliff, each of its large suits has a bedroom with a king-sized bed, an ample sitting room, and a private terrace. There are two swimming pools, the upper one outside a common living room and round-the-clock bar. The water flows down the cliff to the lower pool. The living room, filled with couches and lounge chairs as well as a hammock, is totally open, providing sensational views of the bay and Zihua.

Perhaps one of the most unusual things about this simple, though elegant, inn is its tariff schedule. The room rates, modest even by Mexican standards, include a full American breakfast.

Guests, who receive seating priority at the nine tables, and outsiders with reservations arrive at 6:30pm for cocktails on the terrace, and to watch the sunset. The vantage point for sunsets is a strong 9-plus. A bell rings at 7:30, and everyone sits down to a delicious, well-presented meal, with special praise going to the soups.

The views, designs and the decor at the villa are all superb!
