The authentic Mexican fishing village of Zihuatanejo is just a 15-20 minute walk from the villa. You will enjoy the large variety of high-quality restaurants, ranging from the simple to the elegant. Taxis are plentiful and cheap. There is always something special going on in town. "Zihua" has great shopping, featuring local crafts and prestigious boutiques. Beautiful, handwoven rugs are some of the more popular handicrafts available in downtown Zihuatanejo. Two, full, 18-hole courses are available for all golfers, new and experienced. In case you don't have your golfing clubs on hand, both courses have club rentals. We suggest you bring extra golf balls to make sure your experience is not interrupted. In case golfing is not your idea of relaxation and fun, sailing, jet-skiing and parasailing rentals are all available just a short walk away on Playa la Ropa beach. Zihuatanejo is world-renowned for terrific, deep-sea fishing. It's a true Zihua bargain; have your fish cooked up in an authentic ramada on Isla Extapa! Yum! You can snorkel around the rocks below the Villa to see a large variety of tropical fish. We have equipment available, but be sure to bring your own fins. The natives are always friendly and are more than eager to meet new people. My brother-in-law rented the entire Villa in March/April of 98 for our family. I could not have had a better time. Martha, the owner was amazing. She called taxis for us, fixed snacks for our kids, set up fishing outings, and even found two local women to care for our children whenever we chose to go on our own. She became more like a member of our family, as did the other staff members. The food is absolutely incredible. Breakfast is great, but dinner is unbelieveable- The best in the village. We ate every dinner there, except one, and regretted taking that night off. The villa is beautiful and there is nothing more peaceful than relaxing in the hammock the sits at the water's edge down the winding steps of the cliff.
